Overview
Using our industry and business-process knowledge, our service offering expertise and our
insight into and access to existing and emerging technologies, we identify new business and

Our business is structured around various levels.
Our development starts with a Needs Assessment where we ascertain the nature of the problem.
We begin by talking with your staff, your management, and your clients where appropriate. The goal
of this phase is two-fold. First, we want to understand the true nature of the perceived problem.
Second, we want to make sure that we are devising a solution that fits and will successfully solve
the problem.
Another aspect of the Needs Assessment is the building of a development team. Because we
believe client involvement is a critical aspect of a successful project, the team will usually include
members of your staff, and can even include client representatives. Occasionally, if the expertise is
not already in-house, we bring in additional expertise through our partner organizations. Our goal
is to build the best team for the job, with the skills necessary to make the project a success.
Throughout development, specific deliverables are made available. These documents act as
reference points and provide guidance throughout the project. Additionally, these deliverables give
you a firm sense of what is being developed, how it's being developed, and why. With your signoff
on these documents, we know that your expectations and our development efforts are a matched
set.
After careful planning and design, implementation begins. Code is written, revisions are made to
design documents, true testing occurs, and the application grows. As milestones are reached,
Atlantic Data communicates these with you through our online Client Extranet, and through status
meetings where new areas of functionality are demonstrated and feedback is solicited.
Project Management Methodology
Atlantic Data has well defined procedures and standards for project estimation in terms of deriving
efforts and cost. The Project Plan is prepared at the end Project Initiation phase. The project plan
consists of detail break up of the activities along with the deadlines and owner of each activity.
Standard configuration management tool is used to maintain all the configurable items like project
documentation, project code and project coding standard documentation.
Client Participation
Atlantic Data strives to avoid the situation by increasing the client participation during every
important phase of the project. Effective mechanisms are used that provide transparency of all the
activities of the project, at any point of time, irrespective of the client location
